The Weekend To Come – 08/07/2018

New Zealand

After this weekend we will see a break by the schools with the boys attending the different franchise training camps. But first, we need to finalise this weekend's games.

Auckland Premier 1A - No rugby scheduled

Central North Island 1stXV - No rugby scheduled

North Harbour Canon 1A - The top of the log fight continues with Takapuna Grammar travelling top Massey High and most probably collect another 5 points to remain at the top of the log. Westlake Boys High host third-placed Rosmini College in what promises as the best matchup for the weekend, with Westlake the firm favourite.

Super Eight - Log leader and unbeaten Hamilton Boys High will host bottom of the log Tauranga Boys and although Tauranga is still looking for their first victory the level of competition in this Super Rugby Competition is so high that a surprise is not off the cards. However ................ Second placed Napier Boys hosts Rotorua Boys High and will be tested to their limits. No easy game in the Super 8.

UC Championship - Log leader and unbeaten Christchurch Boys High hosts St Andrew's College who should not threaten Christchurch's unbeaten record for 2018. Second-placed Christ's College should have an even easier game when they travel to Aoraki Combined who is second from the bottom of the log.

Wellington Premiership - St Patricks Silverstream and Scots College are the only two unbeaten teams in this competition and apart from St Pat's Town none of the other competing schools seems to be serious contenders for the title. St Pat's Town who has only lost 1 game so far hosts Hutt International and should be a real contender for the number 2 spot as the big game of the weekend will be St Pat's Silverstream hosting Scots College on Saturday. St Pat's Silverstream might just be the favourites by a very small margin.
