The Movers And Shakers – Week Ending 21/07/2018

International

Top 10 - Paul Roos (RSA) is the new number 1 school in this ranking after beating Wynberg (RSA) 73-14. Kings College (NZ) moved up 5 positions to number 6 after beating Palmerston North (NZ) 25-19 after a gruelling match at home. Christchurch Boys High is promoted to number 10 even though they did not play this weekend. Paarl Boishaai (RSA) drops 5 positions to number 12 after their loss against Oakdale with 29-47 while the other Sout African team to drop out of the Top 10, Glenwood (RSA) won their match but lost the compulsory 1.5 ranking points after a massive win of 83-0 against Middelberg HTS (RSA). South Africa now only have 3 teams in the top 10 although they still occupy the number 1 and 2 spots.

Top 20 - Monnas enters at number 20 after beating Menlopark 40-26 at home. Monnas scored 3 tries in the last 15 minutes to win this game. Auckland Grammar lost their number 20 spot and now sits at 21 after Monnas replaced them in the Top 20. Auckland Grammar did not play this weekend.

Top 50 - Two South African schools drop out of the Top 50 after some surprise losses. DHS (RSA) lost to Parktown Boys (RSA) (51-25) and drops a massive 23 place to number 54. Rondebosch (RSA) lost to up and coming Stellenberg (RSA) with 12-31 and drops 11 positions to number 56. Drostdy HTS won with 34-28 against lowly ranked Duineveld (RSA) and conceded the mandatory 1.5 ranking points. This resulted in Outeniqua (RSA), Francis Douglas (NZ) and St Paul's Collegiate (NZ) to be promoted to numbers 50,49 and 48 respectively.

New Zealand

As New Zealand is still on holiday and only a few games were played nothing much happened here. No new entrants to the Top 10 and Top 20 with Shirley Boys High moving up 1 position to number 50 after Waitaki Boys High lost 7-36 to John McGlashan College (NZ) and dropped 10 positions to number 58.

South Africa

Top 10 - Big news is Paul Roos replacing Grey College at the number 1 position. Monnas moving up 1 position to number 10 after beating Menlo Park 40-26 replacing Bishops who lost the mandatory 1.5 ranking points after beating Strand 81-5.

Top 20 - DHS lost to Parktown (51-25) cost them 9 ranking positions with Selborne replacing them in the Top 20 after beating Hudson Park with 54-10.

Top 50 - Welkom Gim losing the mandatory 1.5 ranking points after their victory of 36-16 against Goudveld with St Alban's replacing them at number 50 without playing a game.
