The Movers And Shakers – Week Ending 15/04/2018

We are entering the time of the season where the big shakeout is almost complete resulting in less movement in the rankings. A lot has been asked why schools like Ben Vorster, Wynberg, Union and Strand does not feature in the Top 20 as they all are experiencing very good seasons so far. Today we will add the Top 10 schools who are climbing up the rankings due to their splendid season but still did not accrue enough points to enter the Top 20 list.

The Top 10

Hilton enters the Top 10 at #10 replacing Garsfontein. Garsfontein had a massive victory of 74-3 against Pietersburg but that "10 point margin rule" cost them valuable ranking points making them drop to #12. Grey College is still #1 but the pack from the Western Cape is chasing with the front runners from the Noordvaal, Garsfontein and Monnas, both feeling the burn of the "10 point margin rule".

The Top 20

Jeppe stormed to #15 after their close game against KES (24-21) confirming the pundits' predictions of a top 20 side in 2018. EG Jansen enters the Top 20- at #19 after two victories this week, they beat Eldoraigne 52-25 this weekend and Rustenburg 20-10. DHS enters the Top 20 in #20 which also show that some people do know what they are talking about. DHS in top form against Northwood beating them 50-27 in a try fest. Boland Landbou and Grey High the victims of the "10 point margin rule" and KES after their loss to Jeppe are the three teams out of the Top 20.

The Top 50

Parktown moves 5 positions up to end at #50 to replace Kingswood who drops out of the Top 50. Parktown "surprised" with their close victory of 14-13 against St Benedict's while Kingswood did not play any matches but overtaken by 9 schools after the results were received.
