The Movers And Shakers – Week Ending 06/05/2018

After the exciting weekend in Paarl where the winners cemented their spots at the Top of the 1stXV Rankings, the Top 10 is settling. The Top 20, however, has a lot of movement as new contenders move in.

The Top 10

With the Top 20 schools bunched very closely, Drostdy HTS dropped 8 positions as their victory against lowly ranked Hermanus cost the dreaded 1.5 ranking points. Grey High School gained 6 positions after their victory against Queen's College to move into the Top 10 at #10 making them the second Eastern Cape school in the Top 10.

The Top 20

Transvalia gained 6 positions after their emphatic victory against EG Jansen and moved into the #15 position. Bishops also enter the Top 20 after moving up 5 positions into #15 after their great win against SACS. Jeppe's victory against St Benedicts cost them 1.5 ranking points causing them to drop 5 positions to #23. Framesby's attending the SANIX Tournament see them dropping 1 to #21 as other schools gained some valuable ranking points.

The Top 50

St John's victory against St Andrew's Bloemfontein caused them to drop 6 positions after losing 1.5 ranking points. This caused Ben Vorster to enter the Top 50 moving up 1 position at #50.

The Top 100

Parel Vallei's promotion into the Premium "B" league will see them gain valuable ranking points even if they suffer big losses repositioning them into the area of the Premium "B" schools on the rankings. They gainĀ 9 positions up to #93 after their loss to Belville. Montana from Pretoria moves up 9 positions into #99 after beating Jeugland convincingly. Jeugland drops 7 positions and out of the Top 100 to #101 after their loss against Montana. Vereeniging Gim drops 6 positions to #102 after their loss against Hans Moore.
